• Decathlon is a French sporting goods retailer. With over 1500 stores in 49


countries, is the largest sporting goods retailer in the world.
• Founded by Michel Leclercq in 1976.
• It started to expand in India in 2009.
DIFFERENT DEPARTMENTS IN THE STORE
They have departments like communication department, ecommerce
department, finance and accounts department, logistics department, retail
department, production department, IT department.

SHRINKAGE, LOSS AND PREVENTION
The store has 24/7 CCTV surveillance facility which guards the store to prevent
any shrinkage. The store has 4 security guards and when customer goes out
then proper checking is done and if he purchases anything then bill is
checked and matched with the product purchased.
The store has a separate security room in which a security guards keeps a
check on the store.
