PROJECT 4

Machine wise Body

 Machine vises are mounted on drill presses, grinding machines
and milling machines. Abrasive chop saws have a special type of
machine vise built into the saw. Some hobbyists use a machine
vise as a bench vise because of the low cost and small size.

2D DRAWING
ISOMETRIC
Isometric drawings are not actual 3D drawings, they are made with
2D geometries but they appear like 3D. Isometric drawing in
AutoCAD can be made by tilting viewing angle to 30 degrees for
all of its sides in the 2D plane.
ISOMETRIC
DRAWINGS
3D MODELLING

AutoCAD is primarily for generating 2d sketches. It does have

some ability to visualize those 2d sketches in 3d, and even to make
3d objects, but it's primarily built around a flat, sketch-based
workflow.

(MODEL)
SKETCHER
Sketcher is used to create arbitrary geometries that will define the
various features of a mechanical part. It is similar to the Sketch
function in other 3D solid modelling software such as Unigraphics,
Inventor, Solidworks, and CATIA.
PART MODEL
Part-based models refers to a broad class of detection algorithms
used on images, in which these models will be covered in the
constellation models section. The model essentially computes
deviations from a mean face in terms of shape.
DRAWING

An engineering drawing, a type of technical drawing, is used to fully

and clearly define geometric product specification (GPS) system is
invoked in a mechanical engineering product documentation, the
entire ISO GPS system is invoked.
ASSEMBLY

Assembly modelling is a technology and method used by computer-

aided design and product visualization computer software systems
to handle multiple files that represent components within a product.
The components within an assembly are represented as solid or
surface models.
MECHANISM

A mechanism is a device designed to transform input forces and

movement into a desired set of output forces and the movement.
A mechanism is usually a piece of a larger process or
mechanical system. Sometimes an entire machine may be
referred to as a mechanism.
SHEET METAL

Sheet metal is metal formed by an industrial process into thin,

flat pieces. It is one of the Gauge is defined differently for ferrous
(iron-based) and non-ferrous metals.
WIRE FRAME

A wire-frame model is a visual presentation of a 3-dimensional

(3D) or physical object used. wireframe models are used to define
complex solid objects.
SURFACE DESIGN

Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies engineering,

physics, and materials science principles to design, analyse,
manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. It is the branch of
engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of
machinery.
ANSYS
(ANALYSIS)
ANSYS, Inc. is an American CAE software. The company was
founded in 1970 by John A. Swanson as Swanson Analysis
Systems, Inc (SASI). Its primary purpose was to develop and
market finite element analysis software for structural physics that
could simulate static (stationary), dynamic (moving) and thermal
(heat transfer) problems.
ANSYS (APDL)
(ANALYSIS)
ANSYS Mechanical APDL is the classic version of the software
which means you get to solve your problems the way you did in
your FEM classes (FEM; Finite Element Method is taught in
undergraduate course in Mechanical Engineering) i.e. defining
points in your structure then connecting them with line, assigning
them cross.
ANSYS (WORK BENCH)
(ANALYSIS)
ANSYS Workbench is a common platform for solving engineering
problems. Typical.
tasks you can perform in Workbench are:
• Importing models from a variety of CAD systems.
• Conditioning models for design simulations using the Design
Modeler.
• Performing FEA simulations using Simulation.
• Optimizing designs using Design Xplorer or Design Xplorer VT.
ANSYS (WORK BENCH)
(SYLLABUS)

• Engineering Data
• Meshing
• Structural Analysis
• Thermal Analysis
• Modal & Harmonic
• Rigid Dynamics
• Explicit Dynamics
• Fluid flow (CFX) Fundamentals
• Basics of Fluent (CFD)

HYPERMESH
(ANALYSIS)
Hypermesh is a finite element pre processor with high
performance capabilities of preparing largest models, receiving
high quality meshes is short time span. It offers big varieties of
solid meshing capabilities and can be learned via some training.
There is a great career scope in modelling and meshing industry
and if you aspire to learn the software then you can join Multisoft
Systems. They provide end to end practical training in the subject
domain under expert trainers. Developed by Altair Engineering.
