Applicability of Law
Supplements the Comprehensive
Agrarian Reform Law
Applies
to Private Agricultural Lands
devoted to rice and corn under share
tenancy or lease-tenancy
Transfer of lands to Tenants
PD. No. 27 provides that:
“The tenant farmer, whether in land estate or
not, shall be deemed owner of”
EO No .228 further provides that:
“Section 1. All qualified farmer beneficiaries are now
deemed full owner as of October 21, 1972 of the land
they acquired under P.D. No. 27)
Conditions:
- Does not mean automatic transfer of title or
ownership
- There has to be a full payment of just compensation
Size of the land to be
transferred
Tenant-farmer is entitled to:
a) Five (5) Hectares, If not irrigated
b) Three (3) Hectares, if irrigated
