a source of supply, support, or
aid, especially one that can be
readily drawn upon when needed
Renewableresources
Non Renewable resources
A renewable resource is one that can
be used repeatedly and does not run
out because it is naturally replaced
A renewable resource, essentially, has
an endless supply such as:
solar energy
Wind energy
Hydroelectric energy
Geothermal energy
is radiant light and heat from
the Sun that is harnessed
using a range of ever-evolving
technologies
Wind power or wind energy is the
use of wind to provide
the mechanical
power through wind turbines to
turn electric generators
Hydropower or hydroelectricity
refers to the conversion
of energy from
flowing water into electricity. It is
considered a renewable
energy source because
the water cycle is constantly
renewed by the sun
Geothermal energy is heat derived within
the sub-surface of the earth. Water and/or
steam carry the geothermal energy to the
Earth's surface. Depending on its
characteristics, geothermal energy can be
used for heating and cooling purposes or
be harnessed to generate clean electricity.

Anon-renewable resource is a
resource of economic value that
cannot be readily replaced by
natural means at a quick enough
pace to keep up with
consumption.
Coal
Oil
Gas
a combustible black or dark brown
rock consisting mainly of carbonized
plant matter, found mainly in
underground deposits and widely
used as fuel.
is a fossil fuel, and it exists in
liquid form in underground pools
or reservoirs, in tiny spaces within
sedimentary rocks
This is where Petroleum products
made of.
is a fossil energy source that formed deep
beneath the earth's surface.
naturally occurring hydrocarbon gas
mixture consisting primarily of methane,
but commonly including varying amounts of
other higher alkanes, and sometimes a
small percentage of carbon dioxide,
nitrogen, hydrogen sulfide, or helium.

get started.
6. How is geothermal energy
harvested? (How do we get it?)
a. Solar panels collect the
sunlight.
b. The heat from the earth boils
water to create steam.
c. We pump it from the earth
and refine it into gasoline.
d. We drill for it and burn it like
coal or wood.

hydropower?
a. Hydropower is a renewable energy
resource. There are no
disadvantages.
b. The power is used as electricity to
power large buildings instead of
homes.
c. Building dams can damage natural
wildlife and water systems like lakes
and rivers.
