Barangay Poblacion 3 of
Tanauan City, Batangas is one
of the average barangays in
the City of Tanauan. The
problem in this community
includes, lack of livelihood
programs, that brought the
arise of poverty incidence on
the barangay. The said aspect
could deeply affect those
individual who are less
fortunate.
Background of the
Problem
The proponents decided to
conduct a free seminar for all of
4Ps members of the barangay.
Their proposed project aims to
lessen the rate of poverty in
the community and it also aims
to educate fellow members of
the society to gain extra
income for their everyday
living.
Background of
the Problem
The proponents have found out that
the major problems on the
community was the lack of
livelihood programs and the
insuffieciency of coordination to
possible buyers among the given
programs in the community thus,
the researchers decided to organize
a community extension program
which aims to give not just a
seminar but also to come up with
possible buyers. The program was
entitled PataKwarta with the
following objectives:

1. To provide a sustainable
livelihood opportunity for the
4Ps beneficiaries of Barangay
Poblacion 3 by giving them a
way to enhance their
entrepreneurial skills;
2. To train the 4Ps of Barangay
poblacion 3, providing
procedures on how to create
hassle-free and homemade
products such as dishwashing
liquid which they can sell and
be used to support their
financial needs; and
3. To provide linkages of their
readily made product in order
to help them earn more profit.
1. Providing a seminar. The first activity
that the proponents would do is to
actually provide a seminar.
2. Training session. As per said , the
resource speaker would be the
proponents of this group which are into
disseminating DIY procedures on how to
make dishwashing liquids. This training
session will not only develop the
participants’ technical skills, but also
would enhance their social well-being.
3. Provision of buyers and linkages.
After the said training session the group
tapped a partner associate which will help
them disseminate those products made
by those individuals who have been
trained. The said associates were the
CCLDO of Tanauan city, specifically the
Produkto ng Tanauan, and other retail
store at Victory Market, both partie have
the capability onto helping the 4ps
members recommend the made products

EARTHQUAKE

The concerns for disasters are
increasingly relevant globally in
this contemporary world. Any
disasters which can be
manmade and natural are
inevitable. Thus, it is imperative
to have background knowledge
to cope up with its diverse
effects. One of unexpected risks
that can occur is an earthquake
wherein it releases energy in
the earth’s crust. Given the fact
that the Philippines is part of the
Pacific Ring of fire, one of the

In accordance with, Barangay
Poblacion 3 is widely known for
having frail infrastructure. Since,
there are recent cases of
earthquake that occurred at some
parts of the country. Therefore it
is timely to raise awareness and
preparedness to this

The proponents have found out that
the major problem on the community
is the inadequate coordination and
practices with the local government
unit with regards on the said program
thus, the researchers decided to
conduct a community extension
program which aims to provide not
just a seminar but also an extend
practice for them to know what to do
in times of calamity like earthquake
and to help them distinguish wether
the infrastructures are frail or not.

regarding the plan and
preparation on earthquake;
2. To provide proper knowledge
and understanding to
diminish the disaster risk;
and
3. To ensure good lines of
communication with other
key staff and officials that is
involved in disaster
prevention, response and
recovery.

the Barangay officials of
Barangay Poblacion 3,
Tanauan City, Batanagas to
the proposed seminar about
the awareness on earthquake.
2. The group will coordinate with
the City Disaster Risk
Reduction Management Office
in assessing the stability of
the infrastructures of the
community.
3. The group will disseminate

basic emergency kit (whistles
and flashlights).
Objectives
Keeping Things vital: healthcare
service for elders

NSTP200
Barangay Poblacion 3 of Tanauan City,
Batangas has a great number of senior
citizens according to their office. With
the estimated number of more than 400
elders in the community, indeed the
needs for a healthcare service program
for them is essential. The proponents
conducted a needs assessment and
found out that the problem in this
community includes the lack of
healthcare programs for elders. Hence,
in order to avoid these circumstances to
happen, an immediate help for them
would be a great prevention. The
proponents decided to provide a free
medical checkup for senior citizens of
the barangay. Their proposed project
aims to help the elders address their

health issues.
Problem
According to what the proponents
have find out, providing free
checkups for elders is a great way to
help those people who are in need.
The students of First Asia Institute of
Technology and Humanities come up
with a solution to help the elders on
Barangay Poblacion 3, Tanauan City
Batangas. Keeping Things Vital:
Healthcare Service for Elders program
will give them prior assisstance with
regards onto monitoring the health of
senior citizens which could be a
helpful way for them to gain

knowlendege about their health.

3. To promote healthy living;

4. To monitor and address
elders’ basic health
problems.
1. The group will cooperate with the
Barangay officials of Barangay 3,
Tanauan City, Batanagas to the
proposed project for the elders.
2. The group will coordinate with
Healthcare Service Unit in assessing
the whole program.
3. The group will disseminate posters and
flyers to disseminate information
regarding with the program.
4. The group will assist the elders to the
venue of the program and help aasess
the other needs for the success of the
program.
