Water Conservation
Steps
Don’t let the water run when you are brushing your
teeth
• Turn off the tap
• Use a cup of water as an alternative

Cut your Showers Short

• Avoid singing in the shower
• Take showers instead of a bath (in a bathtub)

Wash clothes in full loads of laundry

• You will waste a lot of water washing only half of a load
Buy water efficient appliances
• Compare the water usage of electronic dishwashers
and washing machines before buying
• Choose wisely and choose the most efficient machine

Throw items into bins, don’t flush

• Do not throw hair into the toilet bowl
• This can avoid flushing too often

Do not sweep pathways with water hose

• Use brooms instead
If it is yellow, let it mellow
• This is a saying to prevent unnecessary toilet
flushes
• But if it is brown, flush it down

Monitor the water bill

• Observe your monthly water bill
• If there is a sudden change in the bill, be sure to
check if there is a leak in your pipe

Reuse your dishes and cups

• Avoid using many dishes and cups per day
• This prevents us from washing a lot of dishes which
waste the amount of water
