Since the Tata group was formed more than 150 years ago, it has served
as the custodian of public good, dedicated to making a positive social
impact. 66% of Tata Sons’ equity is held by the Tata Trusts and dividends
flow directly to support the philanthropic work of the Trusts. Over the
past century and a half, the Tata group has calibrated its mission to
address India’s most urgent needs.

Through its history, tata have championed initiatives to ensure access to quality education for all, while building
some of India's finest institutions.

• Indian Institute of Science(IISc), Bengaluru


• Tata Institute of Fundamental Research(TIFR), Mumbai
• Tata Institute of Social Sciences(TISS), Mumbai
• National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) Mumbai
• Tribal schoolchildren are the beneficiaries of an education programme in Jharkhand that scores high marks for
ambition and implementation.
• Institute of mathematics , Sukinda college , Joda college centenary Learning centre at XIMB, J N Tata
Technical Education centre , School of hope , Shishu Niketan .
• Tata Tea has been working hard since the 1980s to fulfill the needs of specially-abled people.

HEALTH
The Tata group pioneered cancer care in the country, is committed to maternal and neonatal health and has initiated
several rural health development programmes
Initiatives :
• The Annapoorna Centralised Kitchen Project : The project provides nutritious meals to tribal schoolchildren
• Tata Water Mission : Tata Water Mission enables access to pure water in remote rural areas
• Milk Fortification : Milk fortification is part of the Trusts' endeavour to address micronutrient deficiencies
Institutions :
• Tata Memorial Hospital is a leading cancer care centre.
• Tata Medical Center (TMC) : Tata Medical Center is dedicated to making cancer care accessible to underprivileged
sections of society
• Tata Steel has hosted 12 Lifeline Expresses in association with the Ministry of Railways

We know that businesses can play a major role in protecting our planet. That is why Tata group companies actively
endeavour to conserve at-risk species, and safeguard shrinking habitats and fragile ecosystems
