Toll-Plaza Survey & Topology

Geographical Coordinate System

• Highway alignment layers should be modelled with aligned

activities in project plan of model.

• 3D model should have chainages. It is clearly specified on both

LHS and RHS on the alignment

• Global geospatial system in three dimensions (decimal

degrees latitude, longitude and elevation in metres)
and a plan orientation (decimal degrees clockwise
rotation from north) (see Figure)
Geospatial referencing
CAD Standards

CAD standards is helping to produce General Arrangement drawing, Shop drawing, Working drawing and
Fabrication drawings on standard way.

CAD Drawing Clean-up and Quality

Before to submit of CAD documentation on CDE, Drawing Cleanup and Quality checks is require:

 Drawings must be Purged for removing unused layers, blocks, linetypes, MLinetypes, text styles,
dimension styles, shapes, plot styles

 Layers in Model Drawings will be turned ON and Thawed. Presentation of design is done in Sheet
Drawings using standard layer control or layout viewport layer control.

 Layer Filters must be deleted.

 AEC Objects must be exploded and reduced to standard CAD drawing objects.

 Any LWPolylines depicting “areas” must be considered “closed” .

 All redundant items/information in Model Space that do not pertain to Paper Space layouts are to be
deleted.

 Overkill is require to delete duplicated line type and objects.

 The submission of 2D drawing should be a flattened file with Z value as Zero
Standard 3D Modeling Methodology

• 3D Geometric Design and modeling should be Dynamic and

intelligent

• 3D Model develop using detail design drawing including all

necessary Information

• RHS and LHS level model separately

• Model separation into every 100 meters min. on alignment.

• Each object should be able to select individual with its

engineering information

• Model-in-place family should not be used in 3D model

• Publishing Design information as per industry standard

3D Road Modeling
 As per design drawing develop all necessary 3D objects including all necessary information

Road
Furniture

 Highway and Road 3D model is able to see and check as an induvial

layer or entity
 Material description should be unique throughout project for same
type of object
3D Tunnel Modeling
 As per design drawing develop all necessary 3D objects including all necessary information

 All Tunnel components 3D models develop on updated CAD drawing

alignment
3D Bridge Modeling
 As per design drawing develop all necessary 3D objects including all necessary information

 Bridge and Viaduct component define individual for select independently

 Materials and grades are assign as per designs

3D Topology & Survey Modeling
 As per design drawing develop all necessary 3D objects including all necessary information

 A digital terrain model (DTM) enables an accurate assessment of the profiles and contours of a site

 surveyed field measurements to represent spatial elevation data in a graphical environment.

 DTM based is on a triangular grid, it can be used for site measurement and visualization.

Contours Elevation
3D Utility & MEP Modeling

 As per design drawing develop Utility and MEP 3D model with all necessary information

 MEP and Utility components colours are defined systematically for proper identification

 No clashes between MEP, Utility and other disciplines.

Coordinated Model

 This is the EPC Contractors responsibility to assure that all

major activity are modeled and used for clash detection,
construction phasing and coordination

 The EPC Contractor shall be coordinated with the BIM Team

and Design Team for resolving any conflict in Design before
construction.

 Report between the team in the form of a Request for

Information (RFI).

 EPC Contractor is responsible to upload federated

Coordinated BIM model on CDE
Level of Detail & Level of Information
Information Standards of Project & Asset - Model

A Project Information Model (PIM) and an Asset information model (AIM) meeting the definitions of
PAS, 1192-2-2014, PAS1192-3-2014 Standards and BS 1192: 2007.
Uniclass classification system

In MSRDC Mumbai Pune Expressway Missing Link project, Uniclass 2015 shall be followed by the EPC contractor.

Object Classification goal- System Ss

• To Allow project information to be structured to a recognised standard.

• To be comprehensive for all stages in a project life cycle to building and

infra sector

• To be dynamic, managed ,maintained up to date and relevant.

• Link logically from one table to another.

• Be numbered consistently.
