TOP DATA CENTERS IN PAKISTAN
Islamabad (3)
Karachi (9)
Lahore (6)
The data center tiers are systems used to describes specific types of infrastructures. Tie -1 is simplest
infrastructure, while Tie - 4 is most complex.
TIER-1, AND TIER-2
Tier-1
Tier-1 have the lowest redundancy and down time. There is only one path of power and cooling that’s why It have
28.8 hours of down time per annum. There are not any backup cooling systems. It has 99.671% up time per annum.
For small businesses with no complex requirements, a Tier 1 data center is a good choice, serving their needs pretty
well.
Tier-2
Tier-2 contain slightly higher up time 99.741% , there is 22 hours down time. These are not completely redundant
systems. Tier-2 have backup generators and cooling systems. Like a Tier 1 data center, the path for power and cooling
is still one, but such a data center does comprise of some redundant components including a backup generator or
cooling equipment, increasing reliability levels.
TIER-3 AND TIER-4
Tier-3 mostly preferred by large companies which have uptime around 99.982%. This increasing uptime is
because of more redundancy and infrastructure. Its down time is of 1.6 hours per year. This includes multiple
cooling and power distribution paths so if one fails there should have back on
Tier-4 provide 99.995% uptime per year, less than 0.5 hours down time per year. Everything is redundant cooling
units, including generators and power sources.so that another system can immediately take over in the event that
another fails.
