    those that happen as a result
    of an accident, they do not
    involve an intent to harm or
    inflict pain.
    ☼Unintentional injuries can
    happen to anyone regardless
    of gender, age, or status and
    they can strike anywhere.

    SKIN AND SOFT TISSUE


    INJURY
    ☼Skin is the primary
    protection of the body against
    infection, the body becomes
    susceptible to these infectious
    organisms.
    UNINTENTIONAL INJURIES

    Wound
    ☼An injury to living tissue
    which may or may not cause
    a break or cut in the skin, It
    can be open or closed.
    Example are Accidental Fall,
    body contact, etc.
    CLASSIFICATION OF SOFT TISSUE
    INJURIES
    1. Closed Soft Tissue Injury
    ( Closed Injury ) These are
    wounds without breakage in the skin,
    no external bleeding, but
    discoloration in the skin.
    This occurs from strike from a blunt
    object, motor vehicle accident, bump or
    fall.
    CLASSIFICATION OF SOFT TISSUE
    INJURIES
    Different Signs to observe: ☼Shock may occur
    ☼Pain and soreness around the ☼Presence of blood in cough
    affected area ☼Blood in mouth, nose, and
    ☼Discoloration of the skin ; ear
    ruptured blood vessels ☼Vomiting
    ☼Thirstiness ☼Blood in urine or stool
    FIRST AID FOR CLOSED WOUND
    R.I.C.E.S
    ☼Rest – keep the injured body part rested.
    ☼Ice – ice packs to lessen the swelling
    ☼Compress – minimize blood flow and
    swelling
    5. Splint
    ☼Elevate – decrease swelling
    ☼Splint – to secure and avoid further
    damage

    2. Open Soft Tissue Injury
    ( Open Wound )

    1. Position the Victim. e. Dressing and Bandaging appropriate in
