Urine sediment:
• Gold standard – visual microscopy
• Trained laboratory stuff is required
• Manipulation with urine sample - laborious
(homogenization, centrifuging, dosing on microscopic glass slide or
using of „Fast read“ plates – defined thickness of urine layer)
• Coloration of urine sediment – Sternheimer dye
(Alcian blue + Pyronin B)
