This document summarizes a discussion on baptism from a Christian formation meeting of the DICES community. It provides background on the topic being discussed, baptism, by the priest Fr. Dominador "Jun" Duroy during a previous mass. The document then reflects on what baptism means, including being called a gift, grace, and cleansing from sin. Participants are prompted to discuss their memories and experiences of baptism, how they use their God-given gifts, and challenges to living as witnesses to the Gospel. The meeting closes with a prayer about following Christ and being filled with the Holy Spirit.

Christian Formation for DICES
Personnel WEEK 10 – BAPTISM
April 16, 2021, 8:00-9:00 a.m
We are in our 10th week of DICES Christian Formation for Personnel. As a community of Gurong DICES, let us continue to share the fruits of our reflection based on the message of Fr. Dominador “Jun” Duroy, Jr. given last Friday, April 9, 2021 during the Mass, with the topic “BAPTISM,” in line with the celebration of the 500th year of Christianity in the Philippines. Baptism is God's most beautiful and magnificent gift… we call it gift, grace, anointing, enlightenment, garment of immortality, bath of rebirth, seal, and most precious gift. It is called gift because it is conferred on those who bring nothing of their own; grace since it is given even to the guilty; Baptism because sin is buried in the water; anointing for it is priestly and royal as are those who are anointed; enlightenment because it radiates light; clothing since it veils our shame; bath because it washes; and seal as it is our guard and the sign of God's Lordship. - CCC # 1216… Call to Worship Let us remember that we are in the holy and loving presence of God.
+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Let us remember that we are in the holy and loving presence of God.
+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Almighty Father, we know we are sinners, despite our unworthiness, You still give us Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to save us by His death on the cross.
Please forgive us, continue to wash away our sin, and make our hearts clean. May the grace of Baptism strengthen our faith. Make us all witnesses of Your saving power of love, mercy, and compassion. Make us faithful to our baptismal promises to always believe in You and to the mission entrusted to us by the Holy Mother Church.
We make this prayer through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit. One God, forever and ever. Amen.
Guide Questions for Reflection/Sharing (5 minutes of silence and to journal your reflection) 1. Baptism is the first sacrament of initiation into our Catholic faith, do you remember your baptism or the baptism of your children? How did you feel when you or they were getting baptized?
2. God anointed Jesus with the holy spirit and power, we received the same anointing at our baptism and confirmation. How are you using your God-given gifts to build His kingdom?
3. What are the challenges or obstacles in your life that keep you from becoming living witnesses of the Gospel values? Plenary/Synthesis Lord’s Prayer (to be sung/recited) Lord’s Prayer (to be sung/recited) Closing Prayer
Loving God, we thank You for your love, that we have become sons and daughters of Yours. We pray for those who have been baptized today in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. May they walk forward, cleansed of sin, embraced, and loved by You. May they follow Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, guiding their paths. And may they be filled by the Holy Spirit, flowing with love and grace. Enkindle in us the fire of Your love, so that we may fully become living witnesses and the children of light. We ask You these through our Jesus Christ, the Risen Lord, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
(The community may sing an appropriate closing song.)
