Dr. Martin Luther King once said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” By believing
that love could conquer violence, hatred, and prejudice, Dr. Martin Luther King gained and lost supporters. To contrast his statements, a peaceful response is
not the answer to all situations. In a matter of self-defense, one may not be able to stay at peace with themselves or their surroundings. In addition, during an
argument over controversial topics, sometimes a person’s voice and words may be disruptive to better express their important opinions. Staying peaceful is the
right thing to do at times, but staying too peaceful and quiet could also put a movement at a standstill.

For 2021, I have set a few goals for myself. Long term goals start with reading more books, possibly one a month. This will
allow me to expand my knowledge so I will keep track of books I would like to read and some that I have read. I am also
beginning to journal and would like to journal one positive thing that happened in my day and one negative every day for 2021
to show that there is good in every day. One last long term goal would be to bake more. Making fun baked goods will make me
happier and smarter in the realm of baking and cooking. I enjoy baking immensely and would like to become a great baker,
hopefully. As for short term goals, I would like to come out of my comfort zone a bit more. This is a short term goal because as
soon as it is safe, I would like to take advantage of what I took for granted, which does not seem like it will happen soon, so
that goal is for the second half of the new year. Additionally, I would like to drink more water, for health benefits. Lastly, I
would appreciate if my future self will do more of what I want because you only live once (YOLO).
How to have the perfect snow day

In order to have the perfect snow day, many things must happen. First, you wake up at a reasonable hour, not too late and not
too early so like 10:00 am. is great. Then eat breakfast, the most important meal of the day. Anything will do was long as you
like it because it is your snow day! After breakfast, check the weather to figure out what to wear. When getting ready, do not
wash your hair, because trust me, it is going to get messed up by the end of the day anyway so save do not waste your time. You
should wear sweatpants or snow-pants with a long sleeve shirt and a sweatshirt. Hats and gloves are one-hundred perfect
necessary. Now you are ready to play in the snow. You can build a snowman, have snowball fights, snowboard or sled, and even
just taking a walk to enjoy the outdoors.
After your morning, have a warm lunch, anything will do honestly but a warm lunch will help you warm up. Make sure to
change your clothes so you stay dry. Next, a hot beverage such as hot chocolate would be perfect but coffee or tea is good as
well. Then go back outside because you have to enjoy the beautiful snow before it freezes and/or melts. If you feel you do not
want to play in the snow anymore, go inside and take a warm shower. Now you can put on comfy clothes, sit on the couch, and
watch TV. A holiday movie is the perfect choice and it will help you get into the holiday spirit. Relax for the day and admire the
snow because snow is amazing and sometimes only happens once a year.

Toady I was hanging around the Weasley’s house when they decided they needed to go to Diagoon Alley. I had asked if I could join them, and to my
surprise they said yes. There was one problem though, the second I left their chiminea and entered Diagon Alley, I was almost crushed. Well, I guess
not really, but kind of. I had fallen to the ground and their were people, well wizards, all around. The Weasley’s had told me to stay near them but I
often lost them as I stared in amazement at the world around me. Oh how I wished to be a Wizard. Fred and George told me that dumpster diving was
the greatest way to find cool things, for free! They took me around and we found this one, huge dumpster. I followed their lead and jumped right in. As
we were scavenging, they told me what to look out for. Food was goo to donate, clothes were good to sell, and anything else was something fun to keep.
I had grabbed a broken wand that still seemed to have some magic. That was taken away from me very quickly. Let’s just say George was not a human
for a few moments. One thing did catch my eye though, a blue piece of cardboard. In fact it was not cardboard, but a blue box with Dumbledore on the
cover. The Twins said this was an amazing find and that they should have it. I did not let them have it. I opened it up to find that it was a famous
wizard’s card. The odd thing was that my Wizard had never been seen many times before. The person on my card was Tom Riddle. The astonishing
Wizard who now goes by the name of Voldemort. No one really says his name though. This was absolutely crazy and very, very rare. I could not wait to
show everyone what I had found. Apparently it was one of a kind. The rumor was that “they who have found this card, was chosen, sometime
somewhere, to now have a new purpose that would forever change their lives”. This can not be good.

Civil disobedience is, “the refusal to comply with certain laws or to pay taxes and fines, as a peaceful form of political protest”.
What civil disobedience truly means is that a person or group of people disobey the law in order to make a statement and make
themselves heard. The real question is though, is this a just form of protest and is it effective? In Today’s society, a civil
disobedience that is often deemed as illegal but some people disagree. Some people feel that taking wasted food from dumpsters
to feel themselves and/or others should not be punishable. In some cases, slight civil disobedience is necessary.
