CeraTex
Ceramic lagging system
“The most successful and cost effective
pulley lagging used around the world
today”
The Optimum in Conveyor Drive
Performance
CeraTex Ceramic lagging system delivers an
immediate, cost effective solution to conveyor
belt drive problems and additional long term
benefits to the total system!

The uniquely designed patented lagging and high

quality materials used in the manufacture of the
product, ensures continuous system operation
under the most severe operating conditions
where other systems fail!
Ceratex PDS ceramic lagging system
“CeraTex” lagging outperforms all other systems!!
DRASTICALLY CUTS OPERATING COSTS UNDER THE MOST
EXTREME OPERATING CONDITIONS WHERE OTHER SYSTEMS
FAIL!

Outstanding features of the lagging:

 Unmatched operating life and durability

 Unique tile design and layout
 Measurable reduction in power consumption
 Optimum contact between ceramic segments and belt
 Large smooth diameter contact Nub – No damage to
belt cover
 Specially selected rubber compound
 Outstanding bond between tiles and rubber
 Optimum bond of lagging to steel drum – 14 N mm/2
Unique features of the Ceratex design

 Tiles are independent of each other

= No friction between ceramics
 18 x 3.8 mm diameter nubs per tile. =
More contact with the belt than other
systems
 Patented Ceramic-in-Rubber-Design
= No tile loss
 Tiles are staggered = Better shear
force distribution over pulley surface
 Tough, 6mm x 25 mm x 25 mm tile =
Designed for optimum performance
 Exceptionally high quality wear
resistant rubber
 Unsurpassed bond between rubber
and tiles
CDS - Ceramic Pulley Lagging delivers the

Ryan was the consulting
engineer for the AITIK
conveyor project

The results speak for

themselves after 150 million
tons of Iron ore had been
conveyed, the Lagging was
inspected and it was
determined that no
appreciable wear was evident,
and the lagging was in
excellent condition!

Good example of build-up on Nubbed Ceramic lagging

Accumulation of fines
material build-up will
affect the ability of the
belt to track correctly.
This will affect the
peripheral speed and
subsequently impact
the life of the bearings
etc.

CeraTex – NDS non drive pulley lagging
 The smooth surface of the tile
positively elimimates build-up of fines
on the face of he pulley.

 Outstanding service life of the

lagging against premature wear

 Tiles are staggered to allow the tiles

to move independentley in the rubber
base.

 Tough, 6mm x 25 mm x 25 mm tile

Designed for optimum performance

 Exceptionally high quality wear

resistant rubber

 Unsurpassed bond between rubber

Product testing and development
 The present design of the Lagging System is the result of
extensive testing and performance monitoring in the field.

exceeded
Flex tests to determine rubber to ceramic bond
370,000 cycles with no bond failure.

 No reported failure of Cera-Tex PDS lagging due to tile

loss since the introduction of the present design product in
2007
(This is the major cause of ceramic lagging failure today!)

 Achieves a minimum 5 -10 times longer operating life

Preferred method of steel
surface preparation
White metal blast to the following
standards:
Class 3, 75 micron profile
SSPC – 5 sp

The Steel surface can be

cleaned to bare metal with the
use of a high speed 10,000
