This document describes a programmable logic controller (PLC) based elevator control system created by two students under a faculty member at Bengal College of Polytechnic, Durgapur. The system uses a PLC to control a DC motor to move an elevator up and down floors based on inputs from push buttons. Relays and sensors are also used. The students presented the hardware model and concluded that PLCs can easily and reliably control elevator operations including in emergencies.

Introduction

This paper presents programmable logic controller based elevator

control system. Primary focus is on using programmable logic controller
to build the elevator logic. To control the motion of the elevator
through various levels DC geared motor is used. Push buttons are used to
give signal to the elevator to come to the desired floor, traversing up
and down. Moreover DC relays are used as switches, to drive the motor
in clockwise and anticlockwise direction.

Literature Review

With the gradual popularization of high-rise buildings, the elevator

control system has also achieved rapid development, and the
relevant design is constantly improving and optimizing. For the
elevator system, the advantage of PLC control system is that it
can use the elevator control system of PLC, and its later
maintenance cost is lower.

Conclusion

From this project work during whole year we are made this
project model or elevator is work in emergency situation and It is
work easily with PLC. It’s applications are mostly used in regular
life.
