TREATMENT sexual intercourse. Serve medication metronidazole or tinidazole. Vaginal pessaries may be prescribed. Treat the sexual partner.

NURSING CARE
Avoid douche before physical examination be done Insert first dose of vaginal pessary while teaching client. Encourage to eat yogurt or capsules containing lactobacillus acidophilus to replenish normal vaginal microorganism Encourage sitz bath to relieve itching, burning and swelling of the vulva and perineum. Encourage bath daily and particular attention given to perineal hygiene.

GOAL

NURSING PREVENTION

Relief of the pain Encourage the patient to cleanse the perineum gently Encourage rest on the bed Encourage to pour warm water over vulva during voiding Serve analgesics or aspirin to control the pain.
