O Sweet Jesus, lay Your wounded hand

upon my head and bless me.

Stretch forth that same dear hand and
bless each one at home.
Give me Your staff, help me to go around
in your fold just for today doing your
work in your way.
Push me back when I would go wrong and
make me go forward when I’m afraid to do
right. Be with me with my dealings with
each soul with whom I come in contact and
grant that each may know to love and serve
You better for having passed me by.
Lord, what do you send me today?
Humiliation, contradiction, physical
sufferings, bad news which I do not expect,
an aching heart, a failure?
Shall I see myself misjudged, wrongly
suspected? All that You wish, O, my God,
I accept it all in advance.
And if I weep through weakness,
O regard it not. If I murmur, check me.
If I’m discouraged, raise me up.
But through it all teach me to say;
THY WILL BE DONE.
AMEN.
O, Sweet Jesus, through the Immaculate
Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers,
works, joys and sufferings of this day, in
union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
throughout the world.
I offer them for all the intentions of our
Bishops and all the Apostles of Prayer,
and in particular the intentions
of the Holy Father.
(Mention your requests)
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
Lord, source of Eternal Life, give your
shepherd, Pope Francis, a spirit of courage
and right judgment, a spirit of knowledge
and love. By governing with fidelity those
entrusted to His care.
May he, as successor to the Apostle Peter
and Vicar of Christ, build your Church
into a Sacrament of unity,
love and peace for all the world.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Your Son, who lives and reigns
with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.
AMEN.
C: Advent is the time we are reminded that
our God draws near. Long ago God came as
one of us. Through the ages God continues to
come as Spirit, as Word, as bread and wine,
and in each one of us when we reach out to
those in need.
C: Believing in a God who draws near to his
children, we wait; we hope and we labour for
a more just, loving and peaceful world. As we
make this Advent journey we invite God to
come again and again so that our waiting, our
hoping and our labouring may give way to
the fulfillment of God’s promise to come in
glory.
PRIEST: Our help is in the Name of the
Lord.
ALL: Who made heaven and earth.
PRIEST: O God, by whose word all things are
sanctified, pour forth Your blessing and grant
that we who use it may prepare our hearts for
the Coming of Christ, and may receive from You
abundant graces. Be with us in this Advent
moment as we come together to celebrate this
season of waiting. We ask this in the name of
Jesus who draws near, who lives and reigns with
You and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and
ever. Amen.
C: As we light the Advent wreath, we bring to
mind all the children of God who wait. We
bring to mind those who long to be treated
with dignity, and we ask that we may be
committed to respect every individual we
encounter, in our words and in our deeds.
ALL: May the needs of our world that we
bring before you today make us aware of how
much our world is in need of your presence.
Let us be a sign of that presence to our
brothers and sisters in need.
We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
First Candle:
The CANDLE of HOPE
COMMENTATOR: Light and
peace, in Jesus Christ our Lord.

ALL: Thanks be to God

C: Today is the First Sunday of
Advent, in which we recall the
hope we have in Christ.
Let us pray:
ALL: God of Abraham and Sarah
and all the Patriarchs of old, you are
our Father too. Your love is revealed
to us in Jesus Christ, Son of God,
and Son of David. Help us in
preparing to celebrate his birth, to
make our hearts ready and to place
our hope in you.
ALL: Help us today and every day to
worship you, to hear your word, and
to do your will by sharing your hope
with others. We ask it in the name of
the one who was born in Bethlehem.
Amen.
O COME, O COME EMMANUEL
O come, O come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free
Thine own from Satan's tyranny
From depths of Hell Thy people save
And give them victory o'er the grave
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Day-Spring, come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death's dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
Priest: In the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
ALL: AMEN.

Priest: The Lord be with you!

ALL: AND WITH YOUR SPIRIT!
I confess to almighty God and to you, my
brothers and sisters, that I have greatly
sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in
what I have done and in what I have failed
to do, through my fault, through my fault,
through my most grievous fault; (strike
breast)
therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,
all the Angels and Saints, and you,
my brothers and sisters, to pray for me
to the Lord our God.
Priest: May Almighty God have mercy
on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us
to everlasting life.
ALL: AMEN.
LORD HAVE MERCY
As we prepare
for the coming of the Lord
we recall our faults
and beg His mercy
Lord have mercy
Lord have mercy
Lord have mercy
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy
Lord have mercy
Lord have mercy
Lord have mercy
ALL: AMEN.

the coming of the Son of Man
will catch many people
unprepared. Jesus tells his
disciples that they are to always
be ready for the day of the
Lord.”
Priest: This is the Gospel of the Lord.

ALL: PRAISE TO YOU, LORD

JESUS CHRIST!
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light, true God
from true God, begotten, not made,
consubstantial with the Father;
Through Him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation,
He came down from heaven (all bow)
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the
Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under
Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was
buried, and rose again on the third day in
accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated
at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory,
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord,
the giver of life, who proceeds from the
Father and the Son, who with the Father
and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic
Church. I confess one baptism
for the forgiveness of sins and I look
forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
“Lord, graciously hear us!”
ALL: AMEN.
MY ONLY OFFERING
I thank You Oh Lord
Lord Jesus, my thanks to You
For opening Your arms
And giving me Your love
CHORUS:
The only gift that I
can offer You my Father
Is my life, my heart, my soul
I cannot give You wealth
And jewels of great price
I cannot give You gold
But what I have I give
This offering I bring, I hope and pray
Lord Jesus that You’ll use it day by day
This is my only prayer
The only thing I ask,
My only offering
I still cannot believe
That You have looked at me, Oh Lord
As worthless as I am
And given me Your love!
CHORUS:
The only gift that I
can offer You my Father
Is my life, my heart, my soul
I cannot give You wealth
And jewels of great price
I cannot give You gold
But what I have I give
This offering I bring, I hope and pray
Lord Jesus that You’ll use it day by day
This is my only prayer
The only thing I ask,
My only offering
This is my only prayer
The only thing I ask,
My only offering
ALL: May the Lord accept the
sacrifice at your hands, for the praise
and glory of His name, for our good
and the good of all His Holy Church.
ALL: AMEN.
Priest: The Lord be with you.
ALL: AND WITH YOUR SPIRIT!
Priest: Lift up your hearts.
ALL: WE LIFT THEM UP TO THE
LORD!
Priest: Let us give thanks to the Lord
our God.
ALL: IT IS RIGHT AND JUST!
HOLY
Holy, Holy,
Holy Lord God of hosts
Heaven and Earth
are full of Your glory
Hosanna in the highest
Blessed is he who comes
In the name of the Lord!
Hosanna in the Highest
Hosanna in the Highest!
When we eat this bread
And drink this cup
We proclaim Your death, Lord Jesus
Until you come,
until you come in glory!
(Repeat)
A-men, A-men, A-a-a-men!
A-men, A-men, A-men
A-men!
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name,
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done
On Earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those
Who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil..
For the kingdom,
and the power,
and the glory are Yours
now and forever…
A-men!
Priest: The Peace of the Lord
beALL: AMEN.
with you always!
ALL: AND WITH YOUR SPIRIT!
LAMB OF GOD
Lamb of God,
who takes away the sins of the world.
Have mercy on us.
Lamb of God,
who takes away the sins of the world.
Have mercy on us.
Lamb of God,
who takes away the sins of the world.
Grant us peace
Grant us peace, O Lord
Grant us peace, O Lord
Lamb of God!
ALL: Lord, I am not worthy
that you should enter
under my roof but only
say the word and my soul
shall be healed.
LET US EXALT HIS NAME TOGETHER
At all times I will bless Him
His praise will be in my mouth
My soul makes its boast in the Lord
The humble man will hear of Him
The afflicted will be glad
And join with me to magnify the Lord
REFRAIN:
Let us exalt His name together, forever
I sought the Lord, He heard me
And delivered me from my fears.
Let us exalt His name together, forever
O sing His praises magnify the Lord
The angel of the Lord encamps
Round those who fear His name
To save them and deliver them from harm
Though lions roar with hunger
We lack for no good thing
No wonder then we praise Him
with our song
REFRAIN:
Let us exalt His name together, forever
I sought the Lord, He heard me
And delivered me from my fears.
Let us exalt His name together, forever
O sing His praises magnify the Lord
Come children now and hear Him
If you would see long life
Just keep your mouth
from wickedness and lies
Do good and turn from evil
Seek peace instead of strife
Love righteousness
and God will hear your cry
REFRAIN:
Let us exalt His name together, forever
I sought the Lord, He heard me
And delivered me from my fears.
Let us exalt His name together, forever
O sing His praises magnify the Lord
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in
the most Blessed Sacrament.
I love You above all things and I desire to
receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now
receive You sacramentally, come at least
spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You have already come,
and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.
ALL: AMEN.
Priest: The Lord be with you!
ALL: AND WITH YOUR SPIRIT!
ALL: AMEN.
ALL: THANKS BE TO GOD!
O COME DIVINE MESSIAH
O Come, Divine Messiah!
The world in silence waits the day
When hope shall sing of triumph,
And sadness flee away.
Dear Savior haste;
Come, come to earth,
Dispel the night and show Thy face,
And bid us hail the dawn of grace.
O Christ whom nations sigh for,
Whom priest and prophet long foretold,
Come break the captive fetters,
Redeem the long-lost fold.
V. The Angel of the Lord declared
unto Mary,
R. And she conceived by the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary...
V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
R. Be it done unto me according
to Your Word.
Hail Mary…
V. And the Word was made flesh,
R. And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary...
V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the
promises of Christ.
Let us pray:
Pour forth, we beseech You, O Lord,
Your Grace into our hearts;
that we to whom the incarnation of Christ,
your Son was made known
by the message of an angel,
May by His passion and cross
be brought to the glory of His Resurrection.
Through the same Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
GLORY BE…
