The theme of the lesson is “


English speaking countries” for
9th form.
*The aims:
*Educational: Presentation new theme about English-
speaking countries. Enrich pupils knowledge and to
expand a lexicon.
*Develop: to develop the pupils habits of the oral
speech , to develop pupils creative and logical
abilities, understanding, reading and writing,
grammar and lexical skills.
*Bringing-up: to bring up respect different countries,
interest to learning language.

How are you today?
What a beautiful weather today.
The theme of our lesson is “English-speaking countries”. We need
summer up our knowledge on this theme and use them in various
situations.
* And now I want you to answer my questions:
* 1. How many English-speaking countries do you know?
* 2. What are they?
* 3. What is the official name of Great Britain?
* 4. What is the capital of the USA?
* 5. What is the capital of Australia?
* USEFUL INFORMATION
* More than 300000000 people speak English as their first  language.
That means it is the world’s number two language after Chinese.
But English is also the second language for 300 million more than 60
countries such as Nigeria and Pakistan. More than 60 countries have
English as one of their official languages.

* Capital: Washington D.C. Area : 9,372,610 square kilometres. Population: 328, 915, 700.
* Climate : Temperature in the north. Hot desert in the south-west. Sub-tropical in the south-
east. Highest mountain: Mount McKinley in Alaska (6193. Money :Dollars and cents .
* Canada
* Capital: Ottawa. Area: 9,975,233 square kilometres. Population : 37,894,799
* Climate: Temperature in the south. The north is in the Arctic Circle; temperatures in the
winter go to –45 Celsium. Highest mountain :Mount Logan (5,951 metres). Money: Canadian
dollar and cents.

* Capital: Canberra. Cities: Sydney, Melbourne. Area: 7.7 million square kilometers.
Population: about 24,140,800 million people . Climate: mild, sunny Mediterranean is varied
from tropical in the north to temperate in the south-east. Highest mountain: Kostsyushko.
Money: Australian dollars.
* New Zealand
* Capital: Wellington. Area: 268,680 sq km. Population: 4,942,500 million. Climate:
* The north of New Zealand is subtropical and the south temperate. Money: New Zealand
dollar. Highest mountain: MT Cook.
* The United Kingdom
* Capital: London. Area: 244,044 square kilometres. Population:67,886,004. Climate :
Temperature-not very hot, not very cold. A lot of rain in the west and in Scotland
* Money: Pound and pence.
