GLOBALIZATION
• Globalization is the word used to describe the growing interdependence of the world's
economies, cultures, and populations, brought about by cross-border trade in goods and
services, technology, and flows of investment, people, and information.
Cross-border trade
buyers who want deals and offers that are available across the border. For example, buy
products from sellers of that country, and this is cross-border trade.
IMPORTANCE OF GLOBALIZATION
Globalization changes the way nations, businesses, and people interact. Specifically, it
changes the nature of economic activity among nations, expanding trade, opening global
supply chains, and providing access to natural resources and labor markets.
3 MAIN CONCEPTS OF GLOBALIZATION
• Economic Globalization
• Political Globalization
• Cultural Globalization
ECONOMIC GLOBALIZATION
• Political globalization refers to the growth of the worldwide political system, both in size
and complexity.
IMPORTANCE OF GLOBALIZATION IN WORLD
POLITICS
Globalization puts pressure on nations to reduce tariffs, subsidies, and other barriers to free
trade. This consequently promotes economic growth, creates jobs, makes companies more
competitive and lowers prices for consumers.
CULTURAL GLOBALIZATION
• refers to the transmission of ideas, meanings, and values around the world in such a way
as to extend and intensify social relations.
• Good examples of cultural globalization are, for instance, the trading of commodities
such as coffee or avocados. Coffee is said to be originally from Ethiopia and consumed in
the Arabid region. Nonetheless, due to commercial trades after the 11th century, it is
nowadays known as a globally consumed commodity.
IMPORTANCE OF GLOBALIZATION IN CULTURE
Because of globalization, you can purchase cheaper goods, communicate with individuals
from all over the world, and work in just about any country. Importantly, globalization has
also opened our eyes to various cultures, which has increased people's understanding of one
another.
