3 Steps of Consequential Thinking

1. Pause - The first step that we should do is pause for a while. Do not take
decisions or make promises when under intense emotions. You can easily do this
once labeling your emotions through the Mood Meter becomes a daily habit. If
your used to it, you can easily tune into the moment and determine which
quadrant your mind currently is.
2. Analyze - Once you have calmed down a little, it’s time to evaluate the current
situation and the choices available to you. Activate your rational thinking by
asking yourself what the consequences of your ideas will be and if it’s favorable
to you. Furthermore, try to think if there are also other choices available given
the current situation.
3. Respond - Once you got everything mapped out in your mind, that would be the
best time to respond, choosing the best course of action. This way, you can be
confident that the decision is taken after considering both your emotional and
rational thinking, and that is beneficial to both you and the business.
