Some Examples of Jobs Describing job tasks A postal worker delivers mail. A bricklayer stacks bricks and uses cement to make the bricks stick together. A shop assistant helps you find things (and “rings you up”). A secretary types, answers the phones, and greets office visitors. A vet takes care of animals. A mechanic “fixes” or repairs your car or truck. A farmer grows crops.
