What is PROKON ?
PROKON is a software package for structural analysis and design of buildings and other
structures. It was developed by a South African company called PROKON Software
Consultants, and it is widely used by engineers and architects around the world.

Concrete design
The PROKON Concrete Design module is designed to be user-friendly and intuitive,
with a range of features that make it easy to use. The software includes 2D and 3D
modeling tools, which allow users to create detailed models of their structures. The
module also includes a range of design wizards, which guide users through the design
process step-by-step
1. We can use this tool to Design single and multi-span reinforced concrete
beams and slabs, with rectangular, T, L or I shaped, and inverted T and L-
sections, as well as tapered sections.
2. Analyses sub-frames
3. You can use it for its own or as a post-process for Sumo and Frame module

Captain Tool
Analysis and design of pre-stressed reinforced concrete
continuous beams and slabs
Analysis | Design | Detailing
• The PROKON suite includes three concrete column design modules: one for rectangular
columns, another for circular columns, and a third for designing columns with any general
shape.
• The program can design most conventional retaining walls, including cantilever, simply
supported and propped cantilever walls.
• Design reinforced concrete pile caps supported by two to five piles, using a strut-and-tie
method for analysis.
Rectangular column
Design of rectangular reinforced concrete columns
Design | Detailing
Design rectangular reinforced concrete columns typically used in buildings. Design charts
can be printed for easy audit of results. A bending schedule is generated based on the
appropriate detailing standard.
Circular column
Design of circular reinforced concrete columns
Design | Detailing
General column
Design any shape of reinforced concrete column
Design | Detailing
This module designs columns that do not necessarily fall inside the scope of the code
requirements for the simplified method approach. The program, therefore, reverts to first
principles, strain compatibility and equilibrium of forces.
General column
Retaining wall
Design various configurations of reinforced concrete
retaining walls
Design | Detailing
• Analyze concrete retaining walls for normal soil and surcharge loads or seismic
load conditions.
• Analyze walls with complex geometries like backward or forward sloping walls
and toes, as well as walls that have a varying thickness with their height.
• Choose between the Rankine and Coulomb theories and incorporate seepage
in the analysis. A water table can also be specified.
Retaining wall
Pad Footing
Design isolated reinforced concrete pad footings
Design
Pile cap
Design of reinforced concrete pile
caps
Design
Design reinforced concrete pile caps supported by two to five piles, using a strut-
and-tie method for analysis.
Beam section
Design of concrete beam sections
Design
Crack widths
Beam and slab crack width design
Design
Punching shear
Design for flat slab punching shear
Design
Composite design module
• Interactive modelling
• Analysis & design composite element
• Detailed output
• Customizable design rules
Beam
Design of composite beam and slab sections for sagging and hogging
moments
Design
• Design composite beam and slab sections for hogging and sagging moments.
• Choose from a variety of configurations, including ribbed and corrugated profiles.
• Both partial and full shear connections are allowed.
