    1994) is undermined by:
    o inappropriate or unethical test
    preparation or administration
    o inappropriate use of the tests
    o factors beyond the control of
    schools and their personnel.

    How assessment be ethical?
    According to Green et al. (2007), the assessment
    practices that interrelate with ethics are:
    • communication about grading
    • multiple assessment opportunities
    • fairness
    • Unbiased grading practices
    • Reliable test administration
    • standardized test preparation

    Test materials must always be


    confidential; key players in the
    assessment process must ensure
    integrity of the developed test
    materials (Cirlan, 2017).
    W hile the instructional engine is
    propelled by test performance, its
    equity and fairness depend entirely on
    the degree to which the inference,
    decision or description made from test
    performance is correct (Madaus,
    1990).
