UNIVERSE

-The universe is
everything. It includes
all of space, and all the
matter and energy that
space contains.
UNIVERSE
- Universe is a name given to
all the matter around us. Our
universe is also called the
cosmos. It is originally a greek
word which means both "order"
and "world“.
UNIVERSE
- All the stars in all the galaxies
and all the other stuff that
astronomers can’t even observe
are all part of the universe. It is,
simply, everything.
How old is the
universe?
- The universe, on the
other hand, appears to be
about 13.8 billion years
old.
What is the universe made
of?
- The universe contains all the energy
and matter there is. Much of the
observable matter in the universe
takes the form of individual atoms of
hydrogen, which is the simplest atomic
element, made of only a proton and an
electron.
What is the universe made
of?
- But the universe also seems to
contain a bunch of matter and
energy that we can’t see or directly
observe. About 27 percent of the
remainder is dark matter, and 68
percent is dark energy, neither of
which are even remotely
understood.
What is the universe made
of?
- The universe as we understand
it wouldn’t work if dark matter
and dark energy didn’t exist, and
they’re labeled “dark” because
scientists can’t seem to directly
observe them. At least not yet.
THE ORIGIN OF
THE UNIVERSE
According to the Book of Genesis, God
created the universe - and all the
heavenly bodies, the sun, the moon, and
the stars - in six days. But according to
contemporary cosmologists the universe
began with a great explosion known as
the Big Bang, after which the stars and
galaxies slowly formed over billion of
years.
The Big Bang is the best-
supported scientific theory for how
the universe was created. 13.7
billion years ago there was nothing
and nowhere. Everything that ever
existed was contained in a
subatomic particle that was
billions of times smaller than an
atom.
Within a fraction of a second,
this amazingly tiny particle
stretched and inflated to an
unimaginably huge size. Space,
time, and the fundamental
particles of the universe were
created in this instant.

BIG BANG THEORY
The Big Bang Theory is the leading explanation for
how the universe began. Simply put, it says the
universe as we know it started with an infinitely hot
and dense single point that inflated and stretched —
first at unimaginable speeds, and then at a more
measurable rate — over the next 13.7 billion years to
the still-expanding cosmos that we know today.

Existing technology doesn't yet allow

astronomers to literally peer back at the
universe's birth, much of what we understand
about the Big Bang comes from mathematical
formulas and models. Astronomers can,
however, see the "echo" of the expansion
through a phenomenon known as the cosmic
microwave background.

While the majority of the astronomical

community accepts the theory, there are some
theorists who have alternative explanations
besides the Big Bang — such as eternal
inflation or an oscillating universe
STEADY STATE THEORY

In cosmology, a view that the universe is always

expanding but maintaining a constant average
density, with matter being continuously created
to form new stars and galaxies at the same rate
that old ones become unobservable as a
consequence of their increasing distance and
velocity of recession.
STEADY STATE THEORY

A steady-state universe has no beginning or end

in time, and from any point within it the view
on the grand scale—i.e., the average density
and arrangement of galaxies—is the same.
Galaxies of all possible ages are intermingled.

PULSATING UNIVERSE THEORY
The universe is supposed to be expanding and
contracting alternately in other words pulsating.
In the oscillating model the universe begin with a "big
bang" and end with a "big Crunch".
BASIC CONCEPT OF THE
UNIVERSE
The universe is the vast expanse that
includes all matter, energy, galaxies,
stars, planets, and everything else. It
began with the Big Bang around 13.8
billion years ago, expanding and
cooling over time. Galaxies formed,
containing stars and planets.
Gravity shapes the structure of the universe,
causing matter to clump together in structures
like galaxies and galaxy clusters. Dark matter, an
invisible substance, has a significant gravitational
effect. Dark energy, another mysterious force, is
causing the universe's expansion to accelerate.
The universe's evolution is
governed by the interplay of
these forces and the fundamental
laws of physics.
