WHAT IS ETHICS?

 INTRODUCTION:
 Ethics is a branch of philosophy that deals with questions of
right and wrong , moral beliefs and values , and the principles
that guide human behavior. It seeks to understand what actions
are morally acceptable or unacceptable and to provide a
framework for ethical decision-making.
 Ethics is concerned with questions of morality, responsibility ,
fairness, justice,and the well-being of individuals and society as
a whole . It involves examining and evualuating various moral
theories and principles , such as consequentialism, deontology,
and virtue ethics, to determine what is moral compass that
guides individuals and societies towards good actions..
 Ethics can be defined as the study of good moral principles and values that govern
individual and group behavior. It involves determining what is right and wrong, and
what actions are morally acceptable or unacceptable.
 Ethics provides a framework for making ethical decision and assessing the
consequences of those decisions. It addresses questions about human values,
morality, responsibility, and the ethical principles that guide behavior.
 There are several branches of ethics, including normative ethics, applied ethics,
metaethics. Normative ethics focuses on establishing moral standards and guidelines
for behavior. Applied ethics deals with applying ethical theories to specific situations
and issues, such as medical ethics, business ethics, and environmental ethics.
Metaethics, on the other hand, examines the underlying nature and meaning of
ethical concepts and moral language.
 Ethics is an important field of study because it helps
individuals and societies navigate complex moral issues. It
provides a framework for addressing ethical
dilemmas,making decisions based on moral principles,and
understanding the ethical implications of ones’s actions. It
also helps to promote ethical behavior and create a more
just and equitable society.
 In addition to the study of ethics, ethical behavior and
decisions-making can be influenced by personal values,
cultural norms, legal cinsiderations, and societal
expectations. It is important to consider these factors hen
making ethical decisions and to engage in ongoing
relection and dialogue about ethical issues.
EXAMPLE OF ETHICS

 One example of ethics is the principle honesty. This means


telling the truth and being straightforward in all dealings
with others. In an ethical context , a personal who values
honesty will not lie , cheat or deceive others for personal
gain. They will strive to communicate and trustworthy
manner.
