POWER HOUSE
• TSGENCO vide its letter dated 28.07.2021 has requested to communicate acceptance
for taking up execution of Sitamma Sagar Hydro electric plant as CAPTIVE POWER
PLANT with I &CAD department funding so that TSGENCO will take up execution.

• The Special Chief Secretary to Govt. I &CAD vide letter dated 17.01.2023 has accepted
the proposal of TSGENCO for Sitamma Sagar Hydro Electric Project as ‘CAPTIVE POWER
PLANT’ with I &CAD dept funding for the installed capacity of 280 MW.

• Estimate was submitted to Government for Rs. 1283 Crores for Sitamma Sagar Hydro-
Electric Project for obtaining administrative approval.

• The Director /Hydel, TSGENCO vide its letter on 06.03.2023 has communicated terms
and conditions for taking up the project and opinioned that the Detailed estimate &
Drawings for SSHEP will be prepared and submitted by TSGENCO authorities.

Total length of guide bund affected due to forest lands is 9.28 Km.
PCCF, Hyderabad communicated authenticated area of 127.1262Ha proposed for
diversion vide RC. No. 686/ 2022/ FCA-4, Dt: 03.03.2022
CA Lands awarded to an extent of 128.397 Ha by the Collector & District Magistrate,
Bhadradri Kothagudem
RoFR Form – II for forest lands received from Collector & District Magistrate, Bhadradri
Kothagudem vide Rc. No. A6/ RoFR/ ITDA/ 156/ 202 Dt: 25.05.2022
Form-A uploaded for Stage-1 clearance. Project Screening Committee recommended the
project in it’s 1st meeting held on 19.11.2022
Field report on Forest and CA lands for submission to PCCF, Hyderabad and review by
Regional Office, Chennai for grant of Stage – 1 Clearance is under preparation by DFO,
Kothagudem (Expected by May 1 st week)

Environmental Clearance
EIA & EMP studies was entrusted to the agency M/s Right Source Industrial Solutions
Private Limited

Project was presented to 28th EAC Committee on 31.05.2022 and approved ToR
communicated on 29.06.2022

EIA & EMP Studies completed for 3 seasons. Draft EIA/EMP report is prepared and
submitted to PCB for vetting before conducting public hearing.

After completion of public hearing, comments will be incorporated in the final EIA/EMP
report for submission to MoEF&CC for consideration.

After final presentation, MoEF&CC will grant Environmental Clearance positively by

July/August 2023
SITAMMA SAGAR MULTI-PURPOSE PROJECT
Hon’ble NGT, Chennai Orders
 O.A No. 27 of 2023 (SZ) was filed before Hon’ble NGT, Chennai and the bench passed
an order on 24.03.2023 stating “The project proponent who is Respondent No. 3 is directed
to stop the project forthwith. It is made clear that in the event the project proponent had
obtained the Environmental Clearance, it is open for him to continue the project.”
In response to the above, filed I.A 52 of 2023, it is made clear that the project
Environmental Clearance is in advance stage and hearing was completed on 26.04.2023.
The Hon’ble NGT posted the matter to next month seeking a detailed counter.
Counter preparation is under progress in consultation with Addl. Advocate General, State
of Telangana and Counsel for State of Telangana in NGT, Chennai.
