What is job posting?
• It is a formal advertisement created by a
company, organisation or institution to
announce an available job position within a
company or organization.
• It is used as part of the recruitment process
to attract potential candidates who have the
skills and qualifications required for the job.
• They can be posted on websites, job boards,
social media, and other relevant platforms to
reach a broader potential candidates.
Effective job posting:
• Use a clear and descriptive job title that accurately
reflects the nature of the position.
• Avoid using internal jargon that may be unfamiliar to
external candidates.
• Begin with a concise job summary that provides an
overview of the position and its importance.
• Highlight the key responsibilities and the roles.
• Give a detailed description of the responsibilities.

• Describe the qualifications, skills, and experience
required for the job.
Effective job posting:
• Include information about the company's culture, mission,
and values to give candidates a sense of the work
environment.
• Highlight any benefits.
• Specify the location of the job and mention if the position

• State the salary range, if possible.
• Outline any additional benefits such as healthcare,
retirement plans, and other perks.

which describe the responsibilities, duties,
qualifications, and other relevant
information associated with a specific job
opening.
• It gives a guide for potential candidates to
understand the role and expectation from
them if they are hired.
Writing a job description
• State the title of the position. I
• Describe the candidate’s role within an institution,
company, and organization.
• Specify the tasks and duties in details so that the
candidate know what to expect from them
• Specify the education, experience, skills, and any
certifications required for the position.
• Provide information about the work environment,
physical requirements, travel expectations, and
working conditions.
Language Use
• Use inclusive language to attract a diverse pool of
candidates.
• Avoid any language that could be perceived as
discriminatory.
• Use relevant keywords related to the job and industry
to improve the visibility of your job posting in search
results.
• Convey enthusiasm about the opportunity and the
company.
• Ensure that the job posting is free of grammatical
errors and typos, becasue a well-written and error-
free posting reflects positively on the professionalism
of the organization.
