Concept and theme
It is a film subgenre whose plot contains scenes of
acrobatic fighting, called martial art. They cover a
large number of different styles. This juggling has
aroused great acceptance among spectators around the
world.
Argument:
 They generally have a simple plot, with the complex
choreography performed in these films being more
striking. They are characterized by having the
theme of travel, where the main character goes on
a physical or psychological journey to achieve some
goal. A recurring theme in the search for something,
be it an object or a prized weapon, many films also
relate the journey of the protagonist or his
evolution through martial arts and its influence.
Bruce Lee
Actors
 Bruce Lee is considered a martial arts
legend. He was the person who
created the Jeet Kune Do system and
who revolutionized Kung Fu, by
incorporating movements from other
disciplines into his technique.

Jackie Chan
 Jackie Chan is a Kung Fu master.
Few know that the Hong Konger
began his career as a stunt double
for Bruce Lee. He has participated
in more than 150 films and has
performed each of his stunts.
Likewise, the artist is famous for
acrobatic style fights and the use
of any object as an improvised
fighting instrument.
Jean-Claude Van Chuck Norris
Damme

 Jean-Claude Van Damme trained from the age  Chuck Norris began his martial arts
of 10 in Sjotokan Karate, a discipline that he
training when he was part of the Air Force.
combined with his practice of weightlifting and
ballet. He is known as “the muscles of Thus, he has various international titles in
Brussels” and has complementary training in Taekwondo, Karate, Jiu Jitsu and Judo.

method called Chun Kuk Do.
History and evolution

From the first Chinese martial arts films in the early 20th century to
the global success of Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan, the history of
martial arts cinema is rich and varied.
An amateur film, it allowed us to take a look at the first film, which
was filmed 90 years ago, a new genre that China produced.
 The Red Knight Errant is a silent film, filmed in 1927. It tells the
story of a young woman’s revenge.
Its impressive features

The high kicks where extreme elasticity is


displayed, the wide and exaggerated
projection movements where the opponent
practically flies, the jumps and pirouettes, in
addition to endless exchanges of blows.
Practically non-existent in most traditional
martial arts
Sound
In any martial arts movie in which the
protagonists have a duel with swords or
sabers, said instruments will always make a
“metal on metal” type sound, even if the
instrument they make contact with is
generally its case.
