    When discussing news coverage,
    the term "column" refers to
    compositions that focus on
    particular topics and may have
    single,double, or seven columns
    as well as a vertical page divide
    for figures.
    Column writing allows for a more
    personal and subjective approach to
    journalism, as it provides a platform
    for the columnist to share their
    thoughts, analysis, and commentary
    with readers.
    These columns typically
    express the columnist's
    viewpoint on a wide range of
    topics, including politics,
    social issues, culture, sports,
    and more.
    Columns offer a rare platform for a variety
    of content, from unique to philosophical,
    and usually feature the writer's photo and byline.
    They typically appear in the publication
    and might be subject-oriented, expressing
    a writer's personality, humor, conclusion,
    or perspectives.
