13
Main Devices

• Rectifier / Inverter

14
Main Device

RECTIFIER (LSC)
The rectifier is a regenerative rectifier capable
of regulating bus voltage at a constant value
and independent of grid variations.

15
Main Device

RECTIFIER (LSC)

Its mains characteristics are:

-Regulation of the DC_Bus voltage.
-As regeneratively system, with the remaining
energy in the bus, do not transform into heat
in order to regulate DC_Bus voltage, but is
returned to the grid, reducing the total
consumption of system energy.

16
Main Device

INVERTER (MSC)

Its function is to control the currents of the asynchronous

generator rotor.
The purpose of this is to control the power of the
generator for specific conditions of the asynchronous
generator.
In order to so, the IGBTs trip as from the reference
generated by the regulation. As the same principle as the
rectifier, Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) .

Reactive power and active power signals received by the

PLC are magnitudes regulated by the system by
generating some current rotor signals which control the
power generated in the machine.

Technical Characteristics

AK9758: Driver for two Modules AK9756

An AK9758 card is fitted to each of the inverter and

rectifier phases.
This card has two tripping drivers for the IGBTs,
- One driver for the TOP IGBTs of each branch.
-One driver for the BOTTOM IGBTs of each branch.

The driver has various shields:

-It continuosly monitors the saturation of the IGBTs pair.
If the level exceeds a specific value, the driver generate
an error signal (IGBTs error), cutting the pulses to the
IGBTs and protecting agains overcurrents and short-
circuits.
-If the voltage of the drivers fails below 11 Vdc, the
drivers cut the tripping of the IGBTs.

21
Technical Characteristics

AK9758
A pair of AK9756 modules are conected to the AK9758
card. That each phase consists of 12 IGBTs, 6 TOP and
6 BOTTOM IGBTs in parallel.

22
Technical Characteristics

AK9758
On this card there are three fiber optic connector:
-two receivers for the tripping signals of the TOP
and the BOTTOM IGBTs.
-One emitter with the driver error signals.

The optic tripping signals sent by the control

(CCU) received in each driver are handled by the
control, generating a signal of
+15VDC for switching On

- 15VDC for switching Off

35
PRECHARGE RESISTORS

The precharge circuit has a resistance system that

incorporates the first stage, initial current limit load bus
capacitors..
PRECHARGE
Reached a predetermined value of voltage on the bus, the RESISTORS
precharge circuit bypasses this resistance device and fed
directly to the bus capacitors.
