The Human

RESPIRATORY
SYSTEM
Science 3
4th QUARTER week 3 /4
OBJECTIVES

Described The Human Respiratory System.

(S3ES-IVe-f-3) Human Respiratory
System.
OBJECTIVES

Describe the parts and

functions of respiratory
system where air passes Demonstrate
Explain how respiratory during inhalation and appreciation on the
system works. exhalation. importance of taking
good care of the lungs.
Respiratory System Story
My friends are :

“Molar” the Mouth

“ Nosy” the Nose
“Tracy” the Trachea
“Mr. and Mrs. Bronchi
Mr. and Mrs. Lungs
Their job as a system is to work together
in order to help our body to get oxygen
and take carbon dioxide out of our body.
“Molar” the Mouth and “Nosy” the Nose
help together to bring in air from around
our bodies into our bodies.
Nosy the Nose uses his nostrils to bring
air into our body
while inside the nostrils, there are little
hairs that help keep dust and other
particles out of the respiratory system.
“Tracky” the Trachea , once inside the
body, the air will travel to “Tracky” the
Trachea who is also called the wind pipe.

It filters the air we inhale, next is Mr. and

Mrs. Bronchi the air will travel to push
and pull Mr. and Mrs. Bronchi.
Mr. and Mrs. Bronchi are two air
tubes that branch off “ tracky” the
trachea.
Their job is to transfer the air to Mr.
and Mrs. lungs.
Mr. and Mrs. Lungs are the two most
important part of the respiratory system.
This is where the oxygen and carbon
dioxide are removed from the air, carbon
dioxide is pushed out of our body, oxygen
is picked by tiny cells called red blood
cells.
The Respiratory System performs the
process of breathing continuously
throughout the day and even the night
when we are fast asleep.

In fact all humans have to go through the

act of breathing in order to stay alive.
LET’S HAVE
AN ACTIVITY!
”Create your own Respiratory
System model.”
Prepare the following:

o 2 Balloons
o Cut outs of the major organs
o Scissors or cutter
o Drinking Straw (as many as possible)
o Rubber band and tape
DIRECTIONS
:
1. Get 2 pieces of small balloons.
2. Tape each of its opening to the straw
respectively.
3. Tape both straw side by side.
4. Paste your mouth and nose.
5. Blow the straw observe what happens.
Let’s have
a quiz!
Direction: Multiple Choice: Read the questions carefully.
Choose the letter of the best answer. Write it on your paper.

exchange of gases inside our body?
