- We use the present simple for something scheduled —> We have a lesson next Monday.
- We can use the present continuous for plans or arrangements —--> I'm playing football
tomorrow.
- We use simple future (will) when we express predictions, offers and promises about the
future:I think Argentina will win the World Cup. Also when we make spontaneous decisions at
the time of speaking (not before)
- We use be going to o talk about plans or intentions —--> I'm going to drive to work today . Or
also to to make predictions based on evidence we can see —---> Be careful! You are going to
fall. (= I can see that you might fall.)
- We use Future Continuous -will be with an -ing form- for something happening before and
after a specific time in the future —> “I'll be working at eight o'clock. Can you come later?” or
“They'll be waiting for you when you arrive” . We can also use will be with an -ing form or be
going to when we are talking about plans, arrangements and intentions —-> They'll be coming
to see us next week.
- We often use verbs like would like, plan, want, mean, hope, expect to talk about the future
—> “I'd like to go to university” “We plan to go to France for our holidays” “George wants to
buy a new car”
- We use modals may, might and could when we are not sure about the future —> I might stay
at home tonight or I might go to the cinema

- Simple future:
Affirmative: Subject+ will/shall+ verb( infinitive)
Negative: Subject+ will/shall not or won’t+ verb( infinitive)
interrogative: will/shall or won’t + Subject+ verb( infinitive)
- Future continuous:
Affirmative: Subject + will be/shall be + verb(+ing)
Negative: Subject+ will/shall not be or won’t be + verb( + ing)
interrogative: will/shall or won’t + Subject be + verb( + ing)

1. For a continuous action in the future.
2. For an action that will be in progress at a specific time in the
future.
