Personal Security Physical violence, crime, terrorism, domestic violence, child labor
• 72 M children throughout the globe that are of the age to be in primary education are not enrolled in
school.
• Attributed to inequality and marginalization as well as poverty. Fortunately, there are many
organizations that work directly with the issue of education in providing the proper tools and resources to
aid schools.
• In the Phil., lack of education is attributed to:
• * Social divide- there is no fair learning access in the country. Lack of resources-Large-scale shortfalls in
classrooms, teachers, and other tools to sustain sound learning also make up a big issue.
• Also reported in Inquirer,net Manila,Phil.- DEPED.- acknowledge that the country has been suffering
from Learning poverty” following a report from the world Bank that 90% of children with age 10 yrs. Old
could not read.
Unemployment
A situation where a
person actively
searches for
employment but is
unable to find work.
Unemployment is
considered to be a key
measure of the health
of the economy.
• Without the necessary
education and skills for
employment, many people
struggle to find jobs and
create proper living for
themselves and their families
• This leads to a lack of
necessary, such as enough
food, clothing ,transformation,
and proper living conditions.
Government Corruption- include graft, bribery, embezzlement,
backdoor deals, nepotism, patronage.
Corruption – a major cause of poverty considering how it affects the poor and the economic
development . It can be detrimental to the safety and well-being of citizens living within the
corrupted vicinity and can cause increase of violence and physical threats.
Malnourishment and Hunger
* currently, there are 795M people who do not have enough to eat.
* Long term success to ending world hunger starts with ending poverty.
* By Fighting poverty through proper training for employment,
education and the teaching of cooking and gardening skills, people
who are suffering will be more likely to get jobs, earn enough money to
buy food and even learn how to make their own food to save money.
* Malnutrition includes under nutrition( wasting, stunting, underweight)
inadequate vitamins or minerals, overweight, obesity, and resulting
diet-related non-communicable disease.
Substance Abuse- is the harmful or hazardous use of psychoactive
substances, including alcohol and illicit drugs(WHO)
The UN reports that, by the
beginning of the 21st century, an
estimated 185 M people over the
age of 15 were consuming drugs
globally.
Different classes of people both
rich and poor partake in substance
abuse but the developing world,
marginalized groups and
communities are the most
vulnerable to this reality.
Across the globe, terrorists attack
defenseless and innocent people
without warning.
This make national security a
higher priority for combating
terrorism as well as promoting
justice in wrongdoings to illustrate
the enforcement of the law and
the serious punishments for terror
crimes.
