SUMMARY OF OUTSIDERS

• Outsiders is about a boy named Ponyboy Curtis who lives in the easts side of Oklahoma
tulsa just trying to live his life with his two older brothers. he’s in a gang called the
“greasers” one day ponyboy and his friend johnny got jumped by a rival gang and johnny
accidently killed someone in the rival gang. after that they had to run away while running
away they settled on living in a abandoned church after a few days of living in there
another of his friends named dallas came to get them some food. after they at food at a
nearby fast food joint they spotted smoke in the distance it was the church ponyboy left a
cigarette in there and it started to burn down the church with kids in it ponyboy and his
friend went into the church straight away and saved the kids but in the process johnny got
seriously injured. he eventually dies angry and sad that johnny died so he robbed a
convenience store and tried to run away but got shot down when he got to ponyboys
house.

PONY BOY CURTIS


Ponyboy Curtis Mainly called ponyboy in the
movie and the book is a 14 year old Boy and the
main character of the book who lives In the east
side of Oklahoma Tulsa
He is kind in the book and has a longing feeling
to just live a peaceful life with his friends and
brothers

CHERRY VALANCE
Cherry valance is a sixteen year old girl who also lives in
Oklahoma but she lives in a more high class neighbor hood.
in the books she is a very important part of the story
because without most of the events of the book wouldn’t
have happened. she is the closest thing to a romantical
figure in the book but it doesn’t workout. I would kinda
consider her kind of like a main character in a way
THEME OF OUTSIDERS

• The General theme I picked up is struggle, specifically how people bond


over and deal with struggle. Is the main theme in the book and the
movie
THE END
Genre: Drama, Adult literature

Have you ever wondered how I would give this book a 4/5 as a
people in the more dangerous side rating
of the world live well ponyboy
And I would definitely recommend
doesn’t have to wonder because
this book to people living in more
that’s his everyday life always
dangerous places or young adults
having to be on alert for danger in
his neighbor hood
