THE
PROCESS
STEP 1:
 Start by folding a piece of 12”
x 18” drawing paper into
thirds.
 A good way to do this is just to
start the first fold by creating
equal rectangles.
STEP 2:
 You will be creating your name
on the center section only.
STEP 3:
 Using the center panel and a 2”
ruler (if available) break the
space into three even parts with
two lines.
LINES After drawing lines, breaking the space into thirds
your name tag will look like the photo above.
STEP 3:
Write your name in pencil, making
sure letters touch each other and the
top and bottom lines. Then go over it
with marker.
 Once you have your letters outlined in black
marker begin to think about what color
combinations you will use:

COLOR  Warm?

SCHEMES  Cool?

 Complementary?
Using a minimum of 3
colors and no more
than
4 colors fill in the
space of your letters.
Go from left to right in
a pattern.
