Microsoft Azure
Fundamentals
The practice of using the remote servers that are hosted over
the Internet and Utilizing their services on an on-demand basis,
rather than a Local server or PC.
Redundancy
The practice of duplicating the data to increase its reliability
and availability.

AZURE Hierarchy
TENANT

A Tenant represents an organization.

• A single user can belong to a maximum of 500 Microsoft Entra tenants as a

member or a guest.

• Can create a maximum of 200 tenants.

Management Group
al container that organizes subscriptions and allows you to manage them.
• A plan or an agreement with Azure.
• Is logically linked to Azure resources
and billing account.
• Limit of 300
license-based subscriptions per
tenant.

ii) Pay-As-You-Go
iii) Enterprise Agreement
iv) Azure for students
• Resource group is a logical container that holds
resources.

• Helps keep your Azure environment organized

and simplifies resource management.

• These resources can include virtual machines,

storage accounts, databases, and more.

• Ex: If you're building a web application, you can

put all related resources (like the web server,
database, and storage) into one resource
group.
Anything that you create on Cloud.
ARM Template

Azure Resource Manager Template – allows you to programmatically manage

Azure resources via JSON template.
Cloud Shell: New-AzVM -ResourceGroupName "MyResourceGroup" -Name "MyVM" -Location "EastUS"
Fully managed service provided by Microsoft Azure to enable real-time web functionality
in your applications.

This service allows applications to establish two-way communication between servers

and clients, making it easier to build interactive, responsive, and real-time applications
without the complexity of managing and scaling the SignalR infrastructure manually.
Operates at Layer-3 of OSI model.
•Hot tier - data that is accessed or modified frequently. Highest storage
costs, but the lowest access costs.

•Cool tier - data that is infrequently accessed or modified. Data in the cool
tier should be stored for a minimum of 30 days. Lower storage costs and
higher access costs compared to the hot tier.

•Cold tier - data that is rarely accessed or modified, but still requires fast
retrieval. Data in the cold tier should be stored for a minimum of 90 days.
Lower storage costs and higher access costs compared to the cool tier.

•Archive tier - An offline tier optimized for storing data that is very rarely
accessed. Data in the archive tier should be stored for a minimum
of 180 days. Lowest storage costs, but highest access.
• It helps organizations discover,
classify, and manage their data
across various systems, whether
they are on-premises, in Azure,
or even in other cloud
environments.
• It’s a tool to help businesses
organize and protect their data
assets while enabling efficient
data usage.
Simple Explanation:

Imagine you have data spread across

different places like databases, file
storage, and cloud services. Azure
Purview acts like a map or inventory of all
your data, helping you:

•Find where your data is stored.

•Understand what your data is about (by
tagging or classifying it).
•Keep track of who is using the data and
how (data lineage and tracking).
* It ensures that devices, like smart appliances, industrial equipment, or connected sensors,
remain secure from cyber threats throughout their lifecycle.

* PaaS service
A data warehousing, integration and analytics platform for structured and processed data.
Designed for advanced analytics and data integration across sources.

A centralized storage solution for raw data of all types.

Focused on data storage and preliminary preparation.
Data Lake Analytics (PaaS)
• Azure HDInsight is a cloud-based service that provides an easy, fast, and cost-effective way to process
massive amounts of data.
: Azure Databricks is a cloud-based, collaborative data analytics and machine
learning platform built on Apache Spark that helps organizations process large amounts of data quickly and efficiently.
• Azure Logic Apps is a cloud-based service
that helps you automate workflows and
integrate apps, data, and services without
needing to write a lot of code.
• It's like a digital assistant that connects
different apps and services to make
them work together seamlessly.
The service lifecycle in Azure refers to the stages that an Azure service goes through from its initial
development and public preview to its eventual general availability and potential retirement.
Stages of Azure Service Lifecycle:
1. Development
• This is the internal stage where Azure engineers design, develop, and test the service.
• It is not yet available to the public.

2. Private Preview (Invitation-Only Beta)

• The service is made available to a limited set of customers or partners for testing and feedback.
• Access is by invitation only.
• Features may not be complete, and support is limited.

3. Public Preview (Beta Release)

• The service becomes available to all Azure customers, often for free or at reduced cost.
• The purpose is to gather broader feedback and allow customers to test it in non-critical environments.

4. General Availability (GA)

• The service is fully developed, tested, and officially released to all customers.
• It is considered stable and ready for production use.
•Azure provides standard support, service-level agreements (SLAs), and full documentation.
•Pricing for the service is finalized and publicly available.
