3 Development of work organizations and working cultures
in a direction which supports health and safety at work.
TARGET OF OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY
AND HEALTH
OS&H is geared towards achieving:
a) The promotion and maintenance of the highest degree of
physical, mental and social well – being of workers in all
occupation.
b) The prevention of adverse health effects of the working
conditions.
c) The placement of workers in an occupational environment
adapted to his physical and mental capacity.
d) The adaptation of work to workers.

OS&H encompasses the social, mental and physical (“whole


person”) well – being of workers
