 What is Github ?
What is Github ?

• Github was founded on GIT which was written by Linus Torvalds


creator of LINUX.
• Github is a version control and allows code collaboration with
devlopers.
• Github is used to store the souce code for a project and track the
complete history of all the chenges made to that code.
• Commercial hosting companies such as Github (founded in
2007), Bitbucket (founded in 2010) and GitLab (founded in 2011)
provides hosting for software development using Git.
• Tom Preston-Werner, Chris and PJ Hyett launched Github.com on
10th April 2008.
• Github written in Erlang language
