File/Folder Management Duration: 1.5 Hours What is Booting? • Booting = Starting the computer and loading the operating system. • Two types: Cold Booting and Warm Booting. • Cold Boot: From off state. • Warm Boot: Restarting computer. Steps in Booting Process • 1. Power On - Press the power button. • 2. POST - Hardware check (RAM, keyboard, etc.). • 3. BIOS/UEFI - Basic system setup. • 4. Boot Loader - Finds OS. • 5. OS Loads - Windows or other OS starts. • 6. Login Screen Appears. Why Health & Safety Matter • Protect your body and your computer. • Avoid eyestrain, fatigue, back pain, and accidents. Personal Safety Tips • Use ergonomic chair & table. • Take breaks every 30-45 minutes. • Use screen filters to reduce glare. • Sit with good posture. • Keep liquids away from devices. Equipment Safety Tips • Use surge protectors. • Shut down properly. • Don’t touch components with wet hands. Files and Folders • File = Document/data (e.g., Word file, image). • Folder = Container for organizing files. • Organizing helps save time and space.
