    Products Required for India: Feedback received thus far

    Single Band Vs Multi Band


    Most big operators such as Airtel, Vodafone and Idea would want to plan their networks for 2G and 3G and thus prefer a single band 2 port antenna rather than combining into a dual band However, in situations where the site is overloaded and alternative site is difficult to manage they are looking at option of dual band However, some operators such as Aircel are only looking at 4 port , or even 6 port antennas for new roll outs and swapping the old 2 port antennas

    FET Vs VET
    The requirement for VET is almost 40-50% of all antennas VET is more commonly used in big cities also in case of 3G antennas None of the operators are using antennas with RET. The prominent feedback is that RET will not get used in the near future also
    VET 45% FET 55%

    Beam Width
    ~ 90% antennas used are for 65 deg beam width 10-15% are for 33 deg beam width A small percentage is of special antennas such as bisector antennas from Ten Xc are gaining preference and also command 40-50% premium
    33 / 90 deg 15%

    Antenna Gain
    70-80% antennas used have between 16-18 dBi gain Smaller operators such as Uninor willing to use as high as 40% high gain antennas of 21 dBi or more as long as they are within their budget
