Patrons can borrow from our large selection of books and other materials, as well as enjoy free access to digital books and movies, borrow local museum passes, and make use of our Library of Things.
The library is located at 97 Main Street in Pownal, just off of Route 346, over the railroad tracks. We are on the Purple Line of the Green Mountain Express. The bus makes three stops at the library Monday through Friday.

Accessibility in the Library
The SWPL is committed to providing library services to our community while doing everything we can to ensure the health and safety of our patrons, volunteers, and staff. Accommodations include all services on the ground floor, including restroom. Our front walkway is flat and level, and we have a ramp with partial rail that goes from Orchard Street into our Community Room. The parking spot there is designated as a handicap space.
