Double-feature event for early-career researchers: Léonie De Jonge on researching contested topics, and Robert Huber on navigating the publication process.
During this event, two leading voices in populism studies share their expertise with early-career scholars on “doing research on contested topics” and “how to get published”.
- Léonie De Jonge (Professor of Research on Far-Right Extremism at the University of Tübingen) will discuss what it means to conduct political science research on politically contentious topics and what typical challenges arise when formulating research questions, selecting methods and presenting findings. Furthermore, how does the issue of personal safety—or the lack thereof—influence research practices?
- Robert Huber (Professor Political Science Research Methods at the University of Salzburg) will use his experience as Editor in Chief of the European Journal of Political Research to share insights how to navigate the publication procedure, from submitting manuscripts to handling the review process.
This event is tailored for PhD students and early-career researchers in political and social sciences.
