Hassanpreet Kaur Dhaliwal joined the Unidata Program Center as a student summer intern on May 23, 2022. She completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Physics from Panjab University in India, and moved to United States in January 2021 for her graduate studies in Atmospheric Science at Texas Tech University.
Says Hassanpreet:
The ability to visualize large, sometimes incomprehensible, data in meaningful patterns and draw physical conclusions from it is an integral part of being an atmospheric scientist. I believe that it is one of the most important aspects of accurately addressing the climate change crisis and is thus, most pertaining to my research interests. Unidata, for me, is the perfect place to learn more about useful ways of incorporating various software tools to research and understand the development of community tools such as MetPy, IDV etc. which are imperative to the development of atmospheric science literature.
