Resources for Creating NSF Data Managment Plans

Different NSF directorates and divisions have specific data management guidelines. Here, we will focus on the requirements of the Directorate for Geosciences, and specifically the Division of Atmospheric and Geospace Sciences (AGS). While our suggestions may still be valuable if you are applying for funding from a different NSF division, be sure to consult that division's detailed guidance before submitting your data management plan.

Sample Data Management Plan using Unidata tools

As an example of what a Data Management Plan taking advantage of Unidata technologies and tailored for a National Science Foundation proposal might look like, we have created a sample plan for a fictitious project that collects environmental data. This sample is not intended to be used as-is, but rather to provide you with ideas about how to structure a Data Management Plan for an NSF proposal, and how you might use Unidata technologies to implement the plan.
