International Engineering Minor Highlights

International engineering is a unique, multi-disciplinary minor that UW is proud to offer. It combines customizable programming and engineering courses with exciting experiences abroad. Here are a few aspects of the program that our students love.

Study Abroad Programs

One of the key elements of the international engineering minor is that all students complete an education experience abroad. These experiences include study abroad programs, international internships and international service-learning programs — all of which fulfill the international element of the minor.

To help students find the right program, UW has partnered with 24 exchange programs, several study abroad providers, multiple alternative spring break opportunities and over 20 faculty-led study abroad programs.

Engineers Without Borders

Many international engineering students join Engineers Without Borders, an on-campus organization that teaches the importance of international and non-profit engineering work. This club also gives students the opportunity to network with their peers. Additionally, some of the club’s work fulfills minor requirements.

Customizable Programming

Students have the opportunity to customize their minor program to their personal interests. To do so, students may choose electives from a wide variety of anthropology, foreign language, engineering, religion and architecture classes.
