Definition

A colonoscopy is a diagnostic procedure that allows a doctor to examine the inner lining of the large intestine (colon and rectum) using a thin, flexible tube called a colonoscope. This procedure can help identify abnormal growths, inflamed tissue, ulcers, and bleeding, and is often used for colorectal cancer screening.
