The UK CCTS pilot funding program aims to catalyze collaborative, translational research. We prioritize multidisciplinary research and projects that focus on health disparities, particularly in Appalachia.
The CCTS has funded pilots in 13 of the 16 colleges on UK's campus. More than a third of pilot awards have been granted to PIs outside the UK College of Medicine.
In partnership with investigators at all career stages, community and government organizations, disease-specific centers at UK, and academic medical centers around the country, we have provided more than 300 awards totaling $4 million, which have garnered $84.6 million in extramural funding, a return on investment of 20 to 1.
