The Rural America Placemaking Toolkit is a resource guide to showcase a variety of placemaking activities, projects, and success stories across rural America. CEDIK in cooperative agreement with USDA Rural Development developed this toolkit to highlight the importance of placemaking in rural communities, as well as provide a comprehensive resource that will be regularly updated to feature new projects, activities and successes from rural America.

USDA Rural Development entered into a cooperative agreement with CEDIK in 2022 to host the first ever Placemaking in Small & Rural Communities online conference. The 2022 Rural Placemaking Conference showcased effective placemaking strategies for rural areas, introduce attendees to placemaking resources and tools, and connect them to placemaking experts and potential funders.
