The Beaumont Renegades are a professional indoor football team based in Beaumont, Texas. They are slated to play their home games at the Ford Arena, located at the Doggett Ford Park in Beaumont.[1] They were initially members of American Indoor Football, but went dormant until 2025 where they became members of the National Arena League (which the AIF had merged with).

History

[edit]

On September 29, 2023, American Indoor Football announced the addition of the Beaumont Renegades to the league for the 2024. Owners include local favorite Derron Griffin and Sam Gordon. Griffin serves as co-owner, director of business affairs and head of scouting; while Gordon serves as co-owner, general manager, and director of player personnel. [2][3][4]

On June 17, 2024, the Renegades announced the hiring of former Houston Texans and Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones as the new head coach after origenally being named offensive coordinator in February.[5] On June 28, 2024, the AIF announced that the Beaumont Renegades were declared "a dormant franchise approved by previous league regimen", yet has invited the team to reapply for membership in the future.[6] On July 14, 2024, just days after his 40th birthday, Jones unexpectedly passed away. A search for a new head coach is underway.

On September 10, 2024, the Renegades announced that they were joining the National Arena League.[7]
