Harrison Township is one of nine townships in Wells County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 8,810 (up from 8,531 at 2010[3]) and it contained 3,754 housing units.[2]

History

Six Mile Church, the first organized church in Wells County was formed in Harrison Township by Hallet Barber on September 2, 1838.

The Bethel Methodist Episcopal Church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.[4]

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 48.26 square miles (125.0 km2), of which 47.83 square miles (123.9 km2) (or 99.11%) is land and 0.43 square miles (1.1 km2) (or 0.89%) is water.[3]

The township contains four cemeteries: Elm Grove, Grove, Linn and Saint Johns. The County Poor Farm Cemetery no longer exists, although burial records are available.[5]
